Honor Moorman
National Faculty – South
Honor has been teaching for over 20 years. She began her career as an English Language Arts teacher at The International School of Americas where she engaged students in interdisciplinary project based learning focused on globally significant issues. Since then, she has also served as a mentor teacher, internship coordinator, literacy specialist, dean of instruction, school coach, and university instructor. Honor is currently an educational consultant working with students, educators, schools, and organizations to implement best practices in deeper learning, literacy instruction, digital learning, and global education. She consults for Asia Society’s International Studies Schools Network, Asia Society Texas Center, IREX, TakingITGlobal, Trail of Breadcrumbs, World Leadership School, and World Savvy as well as PBLWorks.
Honor became a National Board Certified Teacher in 2002 and received a PBS Teachers Innovation Award in 2010. She was selected to participate in the Japan Fulbright Memorial Fund Teacher Exchange Program, the Fulbright-Hays Seminars Abroad Program, a National Endowment for the Humanities Summer Seminar, a Faculty Development Seminar on East Asia, and the IREX Teaching Excellence and Achievement Program. Honor was the co-director of the San Antonio Writing Project for three years. She is also a Critical Friends Group Facilitator and a Teacher Consultant for the National Writing Project.
