It’s been another big year for PBL, and it’s been hard to keep track of all the great projects I’ve heard about via emails, on Twitter, at conferences, or from our National Faculty. For this post, our PBL Blog is my source. I sorted through dozens of projects, ranging from relatively simple ones by first-time PBL teachers to more ambitious projects by PBL veterans, including projects of varying types, from different grade levels, in a mix of subject areas.
Here are 15 projects I liked, for a variety of reasons:
Elementary School:
- Margate Tourism project from Holy Trinity and St John’s primary school, England
- The Reptile Project from Crystal Woodin, kindergarten teacher, Grain Valley, Missouri
- Pineapple Strike Mural Project from Marnie Masuda-Cleveland, Lana’i High and Elementary School, Hawai’i
- Sugar Kids Beauty project by Ashley Greenway, Elm Street Elementary School, Rome, Georgia
Middle School:
- Advocates for Peace from Students Rebuild
- Nature House by Allison Balabuch, Central Middle School, Victoria, Canada
- Community Policing project by Alex Kameen, J.T. Moore Middle School, Nashville, Tennessee
- The Monuments Project by Anthony Rovente, Lopez Island Middle School, Washington, and Tom Neville, American School of Paris
High School:
- The Perfect Crime project by Angela Marzilli, BIE National Faculty, South Portland High School, Portland, Maine
- “Living Is…” Podcast project by Tara Harvey and Alexis Leggett, Liberty North High School, Liberty, Missouri
- Spanish classes project by Rachelle Dene Poth, Riverview Junior Senior High School, Oakmont, Pennsylvania
- Project Impact, from American School of Bombay, Mumbai, India
