Ryan Sprott
Ryan Sprott joined PBLWorks in 2017 as a member of the National Faculty where he served as a skilled facilitator of our professional learning offerings. In his current role as Director of National Faculty he leads the organizational strategy to deploy the highest quality facilitation for PBLWorks professional services across the globe.
Ryan began his PBL journey as a teacher where he had extensive experience in rural, urban, and international contexts. While teaching in the West Texas oil town of Big Lake, TX, he co-founded Borderland Collective, a long-term art and education project focused on social practice and progressive pedagogies. In all his work Ryan strives to extend learning beyond the classroom walls so that students and teachers may develop greater capacities for collaboration, critical thinking, empathy, and global competence.
Sprott is the recipient of the James F. Veninga Award for outstanding teaching of the humanities. He holds a doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Texas at San Antonio, and his publications include writings in Education Week and Teaching and Teacher Education.
