Maggie James

National Faculty – South

Maggie James currently teaches second grade in Plano, Texas where she draws upon the elements of Gold Standard PBL to empower her students to become 21st century learners. She is passionate about providing students with authentic learning opportunities and experiences that connect them to their world and communities while building foundational skills in the primary grades. She is an advocate for all learners and has seen first-hand the impact of Project Based Learning on students with diverse backgrounds ranging from gifted and talented students to special education students. She is a dedicated developer by nature and thrives in that role. She loves developing children around her and empowering educators beside her to attain their greatest levels of learning.

Maggie began her educational journey by earning her BA in Education with a minor in Spanish at California State University, Long Beach.  She went on to earn her master’s degree in Education at Pepperdine University. She has 14 years teaching experience at the elementary level in both Texas and California. She holds a bilingual credential (Spanish and English) and has a passion for serving students with special needs as well as English Language Learners.
